Stu’s Bangai-O Gallery For No Reason

Are you a videogame developer? Are you moaning that you're currently not making any/enough money? That's probably because you're not making games that look like this, you idiot:

(I'm not even sure if these are shots of the N64 version or the Dreamcast one. I just stumbled across them in an old folder this week while looking for something else, and it reminded me how dangerously close I'm getting to murdering everyone to death if some kind of Bangai-O game doesn't show up on XBLA or PSN pretty damn soon.)

I love Bangai-O. Anyone unfamiliar with the game looking at these screenshots will have no idea what's going on at all.
Actually, I have Bangai-O for DC and DS, and most of the time, I have no idea what's going on.

  2. Tetsuo Says:

All the screens are from the (slightly) superior N64 version.

  3. DG Says:

Marc – I was going to post just that. I've never played it and I'm buggered if I can even work out which genre this is.

  4. Derek Says:

I didn't like Bangai-O Spirits because I am an incompetent  wimp and it repeatedly kicked my backside.

  5. RevStu Says:

It's a genre on its own, really. But it's basically a cross between Scramble and Robotron.

  6. VLII Says:

Robotron meets Scramble – aye.  But with puzzle bits at times that make it resemble some kind of ultraviolent Boulderdash, but play completely differently.  And with a bizarre paedophilic KKK game-over screen.

  7. Diogo Ribeiro Says:

I had already played the N64 version, but during this weekend I snagged a copy for my DSi XL.

I can't remember any other game in recent times that got me close to tears of joy. Those Treasure bastards :)
