Excellent game ported to unfashionable format
Alert viewers won't (or possibly will) need reminding of Forget-Me-Not, a superb neo-retro iOS game we reported on way back in March that crosses Gauntlet with Pac-Man and Robotron and Crossroads. Well, now it's back with a whole bunch of new enhancements, but not on iOS.
The game's author has ported it to the PC and Mac, where you can have it entirely for free. You should do this immediately, unless you're an idiot.
You can download the PC version here, and the Mac OSX version here. Naturally I haven't played the Mac one as I'm not a billionaire, but the PC version seems pretty spiffy. It defaults to windowed mode, for which the author immediately gets 2050 WoSland Kudos Points (even though it's a rather small window), but can also be played in fullscreen without making a mess of your desktop afterwards.
There are quite a few changes and additions compared to the iOS game (though they'll be coming to it soon in an update), but we're not going to go into them all here because we've got a lot to do today. (Setting maze size to "Max" rather than "Limited" is recommended, though.) Read the original piece to find out what a clever and inventive game this is, then discover the new stuff (and perhaps also the old stuff) for yourself. Go now.

He's also adding iCade support to the iOS version. Bloody lovely game.
This is probably my contender for game of the year, I love it to bits. I found out about this (via this very post) just before going on me hols so I downloaded it to my netbook and spent far too much time when I should have been in the sun hunched over a wee keyboard making a square eat blocky flowers and cussing when those "reproducing" doobries made an appearance.
